It is illegal to sea dump marine pollutants, which include:
- Oil, diesel, petrol and oil products
- Sewage
- Garbage, plastics, paper, nets, glass
- Excessive noise
- Damage to sub-marine habitats when anchoring
- Marine Life damage/injury

Unacceptable behaviour includes:
- Excessive noise levels in the vicinity of other moored vessels and shore-based dwellings
- Excessive wash in the vicinity of moored vessels boat ramps and swimmers
- Any unsafe operation of a vessel unnecessarily risking the safety of others
